The first year of the Eleanor Worthington Prize reserved for students at the tertiary education level, has as its theme OVERCOMING BARRIERS. BEYOND DISABILITY.
The proposed theme relating to overcoming barriers aims to highlight the difficulties that disabled people encounter in communication, social life, inclusion in the workplace, in movement within the home and in the outside world; but it also aims to suggest research into insights and suggestions aimed at promoting the social inclusion of disabled people and their families. Participants in the Award are invited to express themselves through the language of visual communication, with the techniques and disciplines relevant to it, namely: painting, sculpture, illustration, animation, graphics, photography, design and new technologies.
The following institutions participated: Academy of Fine Arts of Urbino, Specialization course Scuola del Libro Urbino, York St John University.
Two prizes of 600 euros each were awarded, one for students from Italian institutions, one for students from British institutions.

Robert Teed, director of the New School House Gallery, York UK
Martin Worthington, University of Cambridge, UK, member of the Worthington family
The prize giving ceremony will take place on Saturday 28 March 2015, in Urbino at the Istituto Superiore per le Industrie Artistiche (ISIA) via Santa Chiara. On that occasion the names of the winners will be announced and the prizes will be awarded.
The exhibition of the works will take place from 4 to 12 June 2015 at the New School House Gallery, Peasholme Green, York, UK.
The exhibition is curated by Nunzia Invernizzi, Artistic Director of the Prize. Pier Paolo Ceccarini and Flavio Urbinati are the video designers of the Exhibition.
