2024 DISABILITY AND AUTONOMY

The theme is inspired by the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, signed by Italy in 2009, which considers the right to autonomy of disabled people as fundamental, as in point (n) of the Preamble:

Recognizing the importance for persons with disabilities of their individual autonomy and independence, including the freedom to make their own choices, and in art. 3:

The principles of this Convention are:

(a) respect for inherent dignity, individual autonomy, including the freedom to make one's own choices, and independence of persons;

No limits are considered to the right to choices, which implies the right to full accessibility to physical, social, economic and cultural facilities, health, education, information and communication (Preamble, point (v).

Obviously, this is only possible if society provides the resources and tools necessary to support people and eliminate barriers.

Students from the following Upper Upper Secondary Art Schools participated:

Art Upper Upper Secondary Schools: Scuola del Libro, Urbino; ​​Giovagnoli, Sansepolcro; Chiabrera Martini Savona; Nolfi Apolloni High School, Fano; De Nobili, Catanzaro; Mengaroni, Pesaro; Misticoni Bellisario, Pescara; Vittoria, Trento; Lanza Perugini, Foggia;

IIS (institute secondary education): IIS artistic and classic Tacito, Terni; Polo 3, Fano in the Seneca section, Istituto Tecnico Grafica e Comunicazione.

140 entries were submitted.

In addition to the equal prizes, the public prize is , based on the votes on FaceBook, and a prize for the best audio description (optional).

The prize giving ceremony will take place on Thursday 16 May at 10 am at the Collegio Raffaello, Sala degli Incisori, Urbino. A Sign Language Interpreter will be present

The Exhibition of all the entries takes place in the Sala del Maniscalco, Urbino, around mid-August, in conjunction with the Festa del Duca. A Sign Language Interpreter will be present. The Exhibition is set up by Nunzia Invernizzi, Artistic Director of the Eleanor Worthington Prize Association-ODV.
