2021 DISABILITY AND CORONAVIRUS

The Coronavirus pandemic has had a major impact on people's lives and has imposed very different and innovative ways of organizing daily life and relationships. Coronavirus has made us all aware of uncertainty.

Technology has supported relationships ,and socialization linked to the specific area of residence has been enhanced.

This completely new situation has had a particular impact on disabled people.

Some have been able to make up for isolation with the use of technological means but many have suffered, also due to difficulties in accessing work, education, creative activities, medical care and public transport.

Reflecting on these issues can strengthen the idea of a social context that is open and attentive to the specific needs of disabled people. For example, accessible urban structures and equipped and welcoming living areas allow for greater flexibility and adaptation even in unpredictable situations.

Despite the persistent difficulty of the moment, various Upper SecondaryArt Schools have participated:

Mannucci, Fabriano; Nolfi Apolloni, Fano; Lanza Perugini, Foggia; Mengaroni, Pesaro; Giovagnoli, Sansepolcro; Montauti, Teramo.

39 entries were presented.

Given the uncertainty surrounding the Coronavirus, the prize giving ceremony on Thursday, May 6 will only take place online. The link to participate on line will be sent to the various schools. It will be managed and presented by Pier Paolo Ceccarini, of Terminus, on the Zoom platform.

Due to the exceptional circumstances, and due to the great generosity of a dear friend, the prizes , as always with equal merit, were € 300 each.

The Exhibition of all the entries received can be viewed at the Sala del Maniscalco, in Urbino, from August 12 to 15 inclusive, and is curated by Nunzia Invernizzi, Artistic Director of the Eleanor Worthington Prize Association. The inauguration of the Exhibition will take place on Thursday, August 12 at 11:30
