2014 / 15 DISABILITY AND ACCESSIBILITY. THE WORLD OF WORK
The participation of disabled people in the world of work is a problem that has only been partially solved, despite specific legislation on this topic ( in Italylaw 68/99, and subsequent amendments). The emphasis of legislation is on the abilities of disabled people, and on how the environment must be modified to take them into account: with subsidies to employers, with adaptation of the workplace, and with the possible involvement of colleagues. Depending on the type of disability, there are many activities that disabled people can do, but much depends on the cultural context. We all have direct experience of disabled people in work (for example: in the world of entertainment, in agriculture, in offices, in commerce, in teaching, in research, in catering, in housework). Through the development of this theme we want to highlight the problems that disabled people encounter if they want to work, but also to inspire new ideas for improvement.
The following Upper Secondary Art Schools participated in the seventh year of the Prize:
Apolloni, Fano; Mengaroni, Pesaro; Licini Preziotti, Fermo; Mannucci, Fabriano; Mannucci, Jesi; Scuola del Libro, Urbino.
43 entries were presented, as individual, group and class entries. The entries show a great variety of expressive techniques, from soundtracked videos, to goldsmithing, to sculptures in various materials, to graphic entries such as posters, photographs, comics, icons, performed with various techniques, e.g. ink, acrylic, engraving.
