2013 / 14 DISABILITY AND INTERACTION. NEW EXPRESSIVE LANGUAGES

Disabilities in their various forms restrict the possibilities of interaction of the individual, both with other individuals and, in a broader sense, with society and with many elements of the world and life. In the context of this theme, this year the Prize, in its seventh year, wants to highlight in particular the aspects that concern expressive languages, with reference to various forms of disability, such as the Braille alphabet, Sign Languages, pointing, sound vibrations, facilitated communication, or even invented communicative languages.

The following Upper Secondary Art Schools participated in this sixth year: Apolloni, Fano; Mengaroni, Pesaro; Licini, Porto San Giorgio; Mannucci, Fabriano; Mannucci, Jesi; Scuola del Libro, Urbino.

55 entries were presented, as individual, group and class entries. The entries show a great variety of expressive techniques, from sound films, to goldsmithing, to sculptures in various materials, to graphic entries such as posters, photographs, comics, icons, executed with various techniques, ink, acrylic, engraving.

The prize giving ceremony took place on April 30, 2015 at the Collegio Raffaello in Urbino, where the exhibition of all the entries submitted to the Prize had already been open for a few days.

The jury, composed of Mariella Roberti, educational psychologist, Roberto Gobesso, professor at ISIA, Bruno Bartoccini, ANFFAS, and Martin Worthington, drew up the ranking, on the basis of which ten prizes were given; three of them consisted of funding for a month's internship at companies operating in the artistic field.

Furthermore, this year for the first time visitors to the Exhibition were asked to vote for the work they deemed most deserving; the eleventh prize was therefore given to the most voted entry.

Thanks to the generosity of the sponsors, it was possible to assign 10 prizes, two of which are training internships of one month each at companies in the artistic field.

The Style Office of Piero Guidi, Schieti, Urbino, offered and assigned a special prize.

The exhibition took place in the rooms of the Collegio Raffaello in Urbino; it was open for about a week, and visited by school groups of various types. The Exhibition had numerous visitors, who expressed very positive opinions

It was curated and set up by Nunzia Invernizzi, Artistic Director of the Prize. Pier Paolo Ceccarini photographed and filmed the event.
