The handcuffs in my piece represent how a disability can restrict someone and all though there may be resources to help them with their disability which is what the key represents they need help and support from others to be fully autonomous which is why the key is being held in such an awkward position. The blood on the hands is to represent the battle people go through to get the support they need because although the resources are often available it is not always easy to access.
