La scintilla dell’accendino rappresenta un trigger di un evento traumatico che dà vita ad un ragno, cui invece rappresenta il trauma stesso. L’animazione “stop motion” fa vedere la creazione di una ragnatela rossa attorno l’accendino. Verso la fine del video si vedranno altre scintille che velocizzeranno la costruzione della ragnatela, che si completerà in pochi secondi. Quest’ultimo momento del video mira alla rievocazione dei ricordi legati all’evento traumatico, che si ripete instaurando il trauma stesso nelle nostre menti, a una profondità sempre maggiore. Il video è accompagnato da un suono di violino minaccioso, spesso utilizzato nelle animazioni dei paesi dell’Est Europa per indicare un personaggio maligno. Questo lavoro non rappresenta solo la creazione del trauma, ma vuole rendere consapevoli le persone riguardo l’importanza di comprendere meglio e dell’empatia verso qualsiasi problematica che potrebbe essere stata causata da un trauma. L’animazione, inoltre, propone di riflettere sulle proprie azioni nei confronti degli altri, per poter essere di aiuto nel risolvere i propri traumi.
TRAUMA
The spark of the lighter represents the trigger of a traumatic event which creates a spider that stands for the trauma itself. The video stop motion shows the creation of a red spiderweb around a lighter. The scene will show multiple sparkles which will make the creation of the spiderweb faster towards the end of the video. The last sequence of the video aims to show the re-enactment of the memories related to the traumatic event which repeats itself in our minds. The video is accompanied by a menacing sound of a violin often used in the animations of East European countries to indicate a malignant character. This work doesn’t only show the creation of a trauma, but it also focuses on making people more aware of the importance to comprehend and to be more emphatic towards any issues caused by trauma. Furthermore, the animation proposes the reflection on our actions towards others to help them solve their traumatic experiences.
